Goodness gracious, I love love love this hummus!! I am always on the search for delicious but healthy snacks because I am not really a huge big-meal person.
This hummus fits all categories of greatness for me. It is plant-based for starters (yay). It has lots of protein and fibre to keep you full. It tastes amazing with veggies or rice cakes which are also low in calories but loaded with vitamins.
This is one of my favourite ways of serving this hummus. While you can choose to just use crackers or tortilla chips and dip it, you can also dress this hummus up into a beautiful appy with rice cakes and some avocado! I also like to top this beet hummus with some basil since the two flavours pair so well together!
If you want to really impress people at a dinner party or impress your Instagram followers with a good food pic, add some chia seeds, sesame seeds or hemp seeds to the top of this and it looks gorgeous (almost too good to eat). This also only takes about 15 minutes to make if you are in a hurry.
Who does not love a good snack dip?!! I love this beet hummus more than regular hummus because of two reasons:
- The added flavour and increased vitamins from the beets.
- The colour pink…. Hello!
Below is the recipe for the beet hummus but feel free to experiment with whatever you want to pair this dish with! Cut up cucumbers and carrots are heavenly with hummus and also low in calories. Best part about this dip is you can make it the day before and just store in in the fridge and BAM ready!
I could go on and on about the lovely health properties of this quick snack but I’ll give it to you quick and easy. This hummus is particularly fantastic for detoxifying or cleansing thanks to the awesome garlic! Chickpeas are a fabulous plant based protein with lots of fibre for a good heart! Beets are a wonderful immune booster, high in potassium (crucial for healthy muscle and nerve function) and full of B Vitamin folate (good for women).
