cali weekend with hunny
Wow, it has been way too long since I posted a blog post (SO SORRY).
Josh and I took a little mini-vacay to Huntington Beach, California last weekend. We thought we would take advantage of the free flight for me; as I was there for a work conference from Tuesday until Friday.
If I am being totally honest, this last year has been really tough for us. We have now been doing four years of long distance with his hockey and this year was by far the hardest. The 9 hour time different was what made it the most difficult – and not being able to come for the weekend like I used to be able to when he played in the North American League. That being said, I am forever thankful that we get to share so many memories in really eccentric and diverse places. There is are so many blessings for every negative – so I can’t complain.
This weekend was so magical. I was slightly under the weather, so we just kept it super low-key. We mostly rode bikes and bathed in the afternoon sun. It was really dream. Seriously… it felt like a dream looking back.
We stayed at THE BEST hotel ever, The Pasea. I highly, highly recommend it. You get free bike rentals and everything. We felt so taken care of. Not to mention our room was gorgeous.
My foodie recommendations (I already posted this on Insta too):
Hearty Breakfast: Tanners at Pasea Hotel
Healthy Delish Smoothies: Earth Bar at Equinox Gym
Healthy Fresh Lunch Bar: Lemonade
Coffee & Snack: Phillz Coffee
Best Bar (w/ great view): Treetop Bar at Pasea Hotel
excited to share more awesome news – coming soon 🙂
