– A Step-by-Step Guide to Perfectly Baked Spaghetti Squash Noodles –
My boyfriend and I are obsessed with this little place in Greenville, South Carolina called Roost. Their menu is filled with a plethera of plant based and gluten free options. They make the most wonderful spaghetti squash dish which is what prompted me to try this idea out myself.
Step One: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees then cut your spaghetti squash into two parts (hot dog way).
Step Two: Scoop out all the seeds/guts in the middle of both squashes. *(Thank you to my little bro for doing this wonderful demonstration).
I sometimes save these squash seeds and bake them in the oven after!
This is how they should look after you are done scoopin’. ^
Step Three: Drizzle some olive oil, salt and pepper on your squash. Make sure you spread it around evenly after you drizzle. I am using garlic red pepper olive oil in the picture above, but regular olive oil works just as well!
Step Four: Place your squash down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and stick it in the oven for 30-45 minutes – depending on the size of your squash.
Step Five: Take out your squash when it is soft enough to scrap the entire inside with a fork. This will create the noodle effect.
Step Six: Add your favourite sauce on top and enjoy hot! Note: you do not need to eat this straight out of the squash, you can scoop the noodles out and enjoy in a bowl as well.
